This happens because the ink in the print head is dried and the print head is clogged.

The problem with inkjet printers is that the ink dries when we do not use the printers for a certain period. Why you try to print after a few weeks, the printer does not print. We think that ink is over/dried but that may not be the case. The main issue is that the ink in printhead is dried out and blocking the ink from coming out. At this point, even if we put in/refill more ink, it may not work. For printing, the ink has to come out through small pores in the print head and these pores are dried/clogged. So even refilling does not help.

For best results, you should never let the ink in the print heads dry out.

The dried printheads can be revived with limited success. I could do it a few times but not always. You can see online videos for different ways.

Someways I tried

I tried dipping the cartridge print head in moderately hot water(around 7 mm only). Changed the water every 15 minutes so as to keep the print head warm. Blowing through the refill holes and wiping the ink that comes out.

Blowing through the refill holes or just wiping with wet cloth/tissue. This works when clogging is not heavy.

Ink suction tool. This is available on many sites. We can attach the tool to cartridge and suck ink out of it. The sucked ink may clear the blocked pores.

Used the above in combinations too and had limited success reviving the cartridges.
